WNBA Rookie Jacy Sheldon Signs with Holo Footwear, Gets Her Own Signature Sneaker
Women’s basketball has seen a massive growth in popularity over the last two years, with WNBA stars receiving more exposure in the mainstream, leading to a surge in signature sneaker deals. While there was a lull in this market segment for nearly a decade, Puma revitalized it with Breanna Stewart’s Puma Stewie silhouette in 2022. Since then, the trend has gained momentum, with multiple models and upcoming signature sneakers from players like Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and Angel Reese. WNBA rookie Jacy Sheldon is joining this illustrious list, who, according to Footwear News, has signed with Holo Footwear and will get her signature sneaker.
The Dallas Wings guard met with Holo Footwear in June, where she was presented with design concepts for her signature model. She also received an exclusive colorway of Isaac Okoro’s signature sneaker, the IO:01. Since signing, Sheldon has sported four PE colorways of the IO:01, with Holo modifying the sneaker to suit her needs. These modifications included reducing the weight and removing portions of the outsole and layers of the upper, making the shoes more suitable for her playing style.
“Holo shoes feel great on my feet. When deciding to sign with Holo, one of the most important things, if not the most important, was making sure they felt comfortable on the basketball court. I love how the shoes feel; they are very lightweight and have great traction, which are two key things I look for in basketball shoes,” Jacy said.
